This event is listed as an opportunity for Girl Scouts to experience a day of STEM\, hosted by the University of Texas at Austin. \n\n\n\nMore information about this event can be found on the Girl Day website. \n\n\n\nElementary and middle school students\, families\, and educators are invited to join us for FREE hands-on science\, technology\, engineering\, and math (STEM) fun on Saturday\, February 24\, 2024\, from 11:30 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. CT on The University of Texas at Austin campus.  (Traduzca esta pagina.) \n\n\n\nUT Austin’s national award-winning STEM Girl Day recruitment program\, presented by Women in STEM (WiSTEM)\, gives K-8th graders a chance to explore STEM through grade-appropriate\, hands-on activities hosted by scientists\, engineers\, astronomers\, mathematicians and other STEM enthusiasts from student organizations\, research centers\, corporate partners and community organizations. DESCRIPTION:This year’s World Thinking Day event is hosted by Troop 3456! \n\n\n\nClick here for more information about World Thinking Day. \n\n\n\nEvent schedule\n\n\n\nThe event schedule has been finalized and can be found here. \n\n\n\nCountries being represented:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHungary\n\n\n\nGreece\n\n\n\nBrazil\n\n\n\nPhilippines\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCanada\n\n\n\nIreland\n\n\n\nSingapore\n\n\n\nAustralia\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrance\n\n\n\nNew Zealand\n\n\n\nMexico\n\n\n\nNorway\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFood trucks\n\n\n\nThere are 2 food trucks participating in World Thinking Day\, Kona Ice and Sibils Ribs.  \n\n\n\nClick here to view the menu and costs for Kona Ice. \n\n\n\nThe menu for Sibils Ribs is not yet available. \n\n\n\nWhat do you need to do to prepare for this event?\n\n\n\nGenerally\, each troop prepares a table display with a display board highlighting facts about the country selected. You can be as creative as you like but this board usually gives facts about Girl Scouts in the region\, foods\, historic landmarks\, etc. Each scout will receive a passport upon check-in so when she visits each country\, they will receive a stamp from that country. \n\n\n\nItems to bring\n\n\n\nFor those troops who are representing a country\, there are a few items that should be prepared. \n\n\n\n\nA stamp that represents something from that country. \n\n\n\nSomething that represents a taste of your country (normally this is a food from your country\, but does not have to be).\n\n\n\nA SWAP to give out at your country’s table (a final number of attendees will be provided after the February 16 deadline.\n\n\n\n\nFlags for borrowing\n\n\n\nThe Service Unit has a variety of country flags that can be borrowed for use during World Thinking Day.
